I found this male and his mate in the Pasayten Wilderness just a few miles from the Canadian border. Although I spent four days in these Bluebird's territory, and they were present all the while, I was unable to find their nest cavity. Oh well ... there's always next year!
This breeding Sora Rail and its mate would run along this floating log each time they decided to go to the other side of the pond. Seldom does one get to see a Sora out in the open, so this is an opportunity I was very grateful to have.
